Use case · Cart recovery

Go back for the cart while it is still warm.

They picked the size and entered the address. That order was almost yours, and nobody went back for it.

Works on WhatsApp, where people actually read

What this actually is

A short sequence that goes back for the abandoned cart within the hour, and a confirmation step that stops unconfirmed COD orders shipping into a return.

Two places the order disappears

The first is checkout. They chose the size, typed the address, and then something interrupted them. A call, a child, a train stop. That order was almost yours.

The second is worse. The COD order ships without anybody confirming it, comes back unopened, and you have paid forward shipping, reverse shipping and packing to sell nothing. That is the most expensive order a store can take.

Carts get abandoned and nothing follows them at all.
COD orders ship on a guess and come home as returns.
Order updates go out by email that nobody opens.

The sequence, and the actual words

Two messages for the cart, one for the order. The confirmation is the one that protects your margin.

Within the hour

Go back for the cart

Speed matters more than cleverness here. Within the hour, while the intent is still there.

Hi {name}, you left {item} in your cart. Still want it? I can hold it for you today.
Day 1

One more, then stop

A second message is fine. A third is nagging. Add something small the first one did not have.

Hi {name}, last one from me on this. {item} is still there and we have {stock} left in your size.
On COD order

Confirm before it ships

One tap turns a guess into a real order. Hold the unconfirmed ones instead of shipping and hoping.

Hi {name}, confirming your order for {item}, cash on delivery, {amount}. Reply YES and it ships today.
After delivery

Ask, then invite

Ask how it went before you ask for anything. It gets you a review and a second order.

Hi {name}, your {item} was delivered yesterday. How is it? And if you liked it, {related} goes well with it.
Cart recovery and order confirmation as journeys you switch on rather than build.

Who runs this

Online stores, and any business taking orders where the customer pays on delivery.

Where this stops working

Worth knowing before you switch it on

Cart recovery needs your store to tell us a cart was abandoned, and whether that is possible depends entirely on what your store runs on. Bring your platform to the call and we will tell you straight whether it connects, and what your options are if it does not. On returns, we can hold an unconfirmed order rather than shipping it, but how much that saves depends on your category, and anybody quoting a percentage before seeing your data is guessing.

Questions people ask

Does this work with my store?

It depends on what your store can send out. Bring the name of your platform to the call and we will give you a real answer rather than a maybe.

Why WhatsApp rather than email?

Because a cart message is only useful if it gets read in the next hour, and email mostly does not.

Will COD confirmation actually cut my returns?

It lets you hold an order nobody confirmed instead of shipping and hoping. How much that saves depends on your category and your customers.

How many cart messages should I send?

Two. One within the hour, one the next day, then stop. A third does more harm than good.

See how many buyers you have never messaged twice

Twenty minutes on your real order list. Most stores are surprised how much revenue came from people they never contacted again.
